About Us

CrossFit Westcountry is one of only a few trail-blazing training centres in the UK to offer personal training, fitness and nutrition coaching based upon the CrossFit method.

At our Totnes based gym in Devon in the UK, we only offer one-on-one personal training or small group instruction to ensure the quality of our tuition.

We aren’t like your typical gym, please look around this blog and our website to get a feel for what we do.

Why Our Group Workouts are Different

Our CrossFit workouts are group workouts. 

When you go to a mainstream gym, you usually go alone – or at best with a friend – do your own thing and go home. 

What we try to achieve is a place where you come to hang out with a whole bunch of like-minded people who are all trying to achieve the same thing – better fitness.  You all do the same workout, which gives you extra motivation to push yourself harder as you can see everyone elses progress.

We also measure and record everything – how fast you did a workout, what weights you used, how much work you did.  All of this means that you have concrete evidence of how fit you are and what progress you’re making.  We have fitness target sheets for all levels of fitness, so you’ll always know what you should be working on and what your next goal will be.  We call this Evidence Based Fitness and it is what makes this approach more effective than other fitness programs.

How to Get Started

We’ve found that the best way to get people started is to take some time to go over everything 1-2-1.

That’s why we offer a free 1 hour initial fitness consultation to all potential new recruits.

At the consultation we’ll tell you about what we do and find out about you and your goals.  We’ll then put you through a sample workout so that you get a feel for our workouts and coaching style.

From here you’ll need to do a series of 4 introductory 1-2-1 coaching sessions (£99) which will cover all of the basics and give you a solid technique and knowledge base to build upon when you start the group sessions.

From here you’re free to start joining the group workouts.  You can either choose to pay a monthly fee  for unlimited workouts (£60) or you can pay in advance for a set of 10 workouts (£50 with a 2 month expiry date).  Which option suits you best will depend on how many sessions you can attend in a month.
